KSU Board
The Katholieke Scholenstichting Utrecht (KSU) is a professional organization for primary education and provides excellent education in almost every neighborhood in Utrecht. Around 850 employees directly or indirectly educate 7,100 children. The KSU governs and manages 26 primary schools distributed across 31 locations in the municipality of Utrecht.
Our societal mission
The KSU-schools provide children in Utrecht with high-quality education. This means that all children in our schools receive a solid foundation in terms of the core educational objectives. We offer children broad knowledge of the world to strengthen their development and promote equal opportunities. Building on this foundation, we teach them to find their place in the world and equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to develop into engaged global citizens who care about one another.
In our strategic plan, we explain our mission, core values, and ambitions. You can read the strategic plan here (only in Dutch).
Ambitions of the KSU Strategic Direction 2026–2030
- High-quality education.
Being “good at the basics” is not enough for us. We make a difference through the broad development of our students. - Equal opportunities.
In addition to broad development, we also make a difference through promoting equal opportunities. Although every KSU-school is different, we all believe that together we can have an impact on this theme. - KSU: a great place to work!
Our professionals are the heart of our education. That is why we invest in their growth and offer ample opportunities for (leadership) development.
Core Values
The Catholic identity is the source from which daily school practice is shaped. The foundation of our Strategic Direction is formed by our core values. They are reflected in all our conversations and actions. The core values are:
- Cultural uniqueness
- Connection
- Development
- Care and attention
In addition to each school having a participation council (MR), KSU has a central participation council (GMR). The GMR consists of five staff members and five parents, as far as possible from different schools. The members represent the interests of all KSU schools.
